Staying In
Try An Online Exercise Class
Remember back in lockdown, when everyone was jumping around their living rooms to Joe Wicks’ online workouts? Well, the pandemic may be long behind us now, but the world of digital fitness continues to thrive – only nowadays, it’s more slick apps and high-tech kit than chaotic Instagram live sessions. LA activewear brand ALO recently relaunched its digital platform as ALO Wellness Club, and removed its paywall, so you can now access thousands of classes for no fee (the 7-Day Reset Ritual is prime January fodder, created alongside Swiss retreat Chenot Palace Weggis). Meanwhile, Peloton revamped its entire product collection at the end of last year, enhancing the strength training offering and adding snazzy features like real-time feedback – while continuing its beloved spin classes, of course. If Pilates is more your bag, try on-demand membership platform Move With Maia, or mix things up with Pvolve, Jennifer Aniston’s workout of choice which offers low-impact sculpting workouts using bespoke equipment. Elsewhere, yogis swear by The Yoga Class by Laura Dodd and Psycle’s platform offers ultra-burny (but brilliant) barre workouts, while Apple’s glossy fitness app includes a range of training programmes including one designed for beginners – bonus points for the great playlists.
