Staying In
Order A Chef-Prepared Feast
Who wants to spend hours sweating away in the kitchen during a stint of hot weather? Save yourself the stress and order dinner from Tommy Banks’ premium home delivery service Made In Oldstead, which has launched a new collaboration series with esteemed chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen. A three-course gourmet meal will be delivered direct to your door, kicking off with West Coast scallops in a fragrant curry sauce, followed by Cumbrian lamb rack with slow-cooked carrots. For pudding, there’s a strawberries and cream pot topped with Kendal Mint Cake granita – a nod to Lisa’s famous Great British Menu dish. Priced at £99 for two, the three-course menu is now available to order online here, for nationwide delivery on 23, 24, 30 and 31 July 2026.
Going Out
Catch A Film At Everyman On The Canal
Everyman On The Canal is one of London’s most popular annual outdoor cinemas (welcoming around 1 million visitors every year), in part thanks to its stellar location: right by King’s Cross station. But it also benefits from Coal Drops Yard’s unique waterside location beside Regent’s Canal, with a big screen popping up on one side of the bank while Londoners and tourists alike can gather to sit on the steps opposite. (On the sunnier days, you’ll spot thrifty locals bobbing beside the big screen, watching the film from small boats they’ve rowed down the canal.) Alongside live sport screenings, in 2026 we can also enjoy DJ sets and a stellar film agenda including Grease, Dune: Part One, Paddington and The Devil Wears Prada. To top it all off, there are food trucks from which you can buy frozen margaritas, ice cream sundaes, and of course fresh cinema-worthy popcorn. Until 16 August 2026, everymancinema.com
Property Of The Day
If you think the parties held at Annabel’s nightclub are exclusive, the parties hosted at the home of its namesake, Lady Annabel Goldsmith, were on another level of stardom. Whether it was close friend Princess Diana lounging around the pool, or her daughter’s boyfriend Hugh Grant coming to stay, there was always some fabulous guest to greet at this historic home.

Psssst…
Good news for fans of Netflix gangster dramedy The Gentlemen: season 2 is on its way. Last year, the streamer revealed filming was underway, with a whole host of familiar faces set to join the cast – and now we have a release date. The new series will land on Netflix on 3 September 2026, with Theo James, Kaya Scodelario and Daniel Ings all set to return to their roles of Eddie Horniman, Susie Glass and Freddy Horniman respectively.
Whatever You Do, Don’t
Wear heavy cotton when working out during a heatwave. Instead, personal trainer Aimee Victoria Long recommends choosing ‘lightweight, breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics in lighter colours’ and wearing a visor or cap if exercising outside to reduce direct sun exposure.
