Watch The Two Tom Hollands Meet

Two worlds collided this weekend when historian Tom Holland interviewed his namesake, the British actor starring the upcoming remake of The Odyssey. The latest video episode of The Rest Is History podcast sees the two Toms joking about the perils of sharing a name, as well as discussing the new Christopher Nolan film, in which Tom stars as Telemachus (the son of Odysseus). The pair chat about the extraordinary scale of the adaptation, with actor Tom saying: ‘For anyone that’s familiar with The Odyssey… turning it into a film feels like you’d have to make five films [because] it’s such a vast piece of work. But Chris’s ability to tell that story in 130 pages while maintaining the heart and the soul of what makes the story so exciting, so emotional, so relevant today, I think it’s just such a feat.’ They also talk about the experience of filming it in Imax, with Tom telling the podcast host and author: ‘I would say that there’s a huge difference between acting on stage and acting on screen, and then there’s an even bigger difference between acting on screen and acting on Imax.
