Watch Lucky

There’s been a dearth of good television recently – such is summer – but our hopes are high for Lucky, the latest miniseries from Apple TV which has a Day of the Jackal style cat-and-mouse flavour to it. It’s the latest book adaptation brought to our screens by prolific reader and almost-as-prolific producer Reese Witherspoon, who has previously brought books The Last Thing He Told Me, Daisy Jones & the Six and Little Fires Everywhere to the small screen. In Lucky, Anya Taylor-Joy leads as Lucky Armstrong, a con-artist forced to go on the run when a multi-million-dollar heist goes sideways. With both the FBI (led by Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as Agent Billie Rand) and a ruthless crime boss (Annette Bening as Priscilla Matheson) on her tail, Lucky must fight for her life – and a way out. But that will be even trickier than it sounds, because Priscilla isn’t hunting Lucky for her own crimes but those of her father, smooth talking John Armstrong (Timothy Olyphant) who made her the con artist she is. The first two episodes are streaming now, with five more to come over the next five weeks. Watch On Apple TV

Head To The Pub For The World Cup Semi-Final

There’s only one place to be at 8pm tonight: settled into a pub with your nearest and dearest, nervously waiting to see if the England football team gets one step closer to bringing it home by triumphing over Argentina. Don’t panic if you’re frantically trying to book a table in London and everything seems to be sold out – many pubs and venues are accepting walk-ins. If you’re after a lively atmosphere, Flat Iron Square won’t disappoint, with a whopping 21 screens, DJs and plenty of food and drink. Over in east, Pub on the Park in London Fields is walk-ins only for England games (but be sure to get there early if you want to secure a table). And across London many pubs will try to accommodate those without bookings, including The Ship in Wandsworth, The Ox in Clapham, The Pelican in Notting Hill, The Salusbury in Queen’s Park and The Albion in Blackfriars.
