Staying In
Try The Wellbeing Ritual Of Dusking
If you’re struggling with how early it gets dark at the moment, try reframing gloomy winter evenings through the cosy Dutch ritual of dusking. Many years ago in the Netherlands, people would gather at twilight to watch the day fade into darkness – a way to save energy, but also a chance to end the day together in a mindful, contemplative way. The pastime faded with the arrival of electric lights, but author and poet Marjolijn van Heemstra is on a mission to bring it back. ‘Twilight reminds us that we live in slow but continuous transformation – that day and night are not opposites but intertwined, and that a world with only light is a lie and the greatest change is often hidden in plain view,’ she writes. ‘And all of that for free. A chair and a view is all you need.’ She’ll be introducing the concept to a new UK audience at this year’s Dark Skies Festival; get ahead of the game and read all about it here.

Whatever You Do, Don’t
Ignore your intuition, says Bridgerton star Daniel Francis. 'When I was younger, I used to think I had so many answers. Now as I get older, I realise that I don’t know anything,' he tells C&TH in a new interview. 'What I do know is, the closer we get to our essence – our core, our intuition, the quiet but all-knowing part of ourselves – the more joy and success we experience.'
