Tune Into The Royal Carol Concert

It’s Christmas Eve! And what better way to launch into the celebrations than by tuning in to Kate Middleton’s annual carol service? The Princess of Wales brings Royal Carols: Together At Christmas back to Westminster Abbey for its fifth year with a brand new theme: celebrating love in all its forms. The service, which was filmed earlier in December, offers a packed programme of carol singing, live music performances and readings from some of today’s biggest celebrities. This year, you can expect appearances from Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Hannah Waddingham, Joe Locke and Griff. Here’s everything you need to know before you tune in. Airs tonight at 7.30pm on ITV1 (or stream on ITVX)

Going Out

Visit Jumeirah Carlton Tower’s Ski-Inspired Pop-Up

If you find yourself pining for the Alps this festive season, head to SW1 for an après-ski experience that will transport you straight to the swanky slopes of St Moritz. Jumeirah Carlton Tower’s Peak Lounge has been transformed into a chic mountain chalet, complete with a replica gondola doubling as a photo booth, artfully positioned skis, twinkling trees and panoramic views over London. You’ll be greeted by staff in Perfect Moment skiwear apparel, shown to cosy seating adorned with cushions and sumptuous throws, and treated to the fanciest of fondues. Begin with a refreshing pear and bitter leaf salad ahead of a gourmet Emmental and Gruyère fondue, served with sourdough, potatoes and charcuterie, followed by crispy meringues. Pair with French and Italian wines or a pleasing Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée: the Champagne house has stationed a pop-up van at the front of the hotel for thirsty shoppers. Property Of The Day

If you’re anything like us, we’re sure you’ve already ticked The Holiday off your mandatory list of Christmas viewing. And while it’s natural to spend the entire film yearning for Jude Law, Mr Napkin Head is not the only object of our desires. Iris’s Surrey cottage is the dream romcom home – and though we can’t promise any handsome men will drunkenly stumble onto your doorstep, Chantry Cottage in the Cotswolds may just be the next best thing. Dating back to the 14th century, this chocolate box home is the perfect spot for curling up against a crackling fire.

Whatever You Do, Don’t

Peel your Christmas orange. Instead, roll it in your hands for a few minutes and inhale – the smell of oranges has been clinically proven to release stress, facialist Annee de Mamiel tells us.
