Staying In
Watch The Pitt
If medical dramas are your bag (and you’re not too squeamish), The Pitt is about to become your next TV obsession. The gripping show has developed a cult fanbase in the US since debuting in 2025, and all 15 episodes of the first season are now available to stream on this side of the pond through HBO Max. Set in the emergency department of a busy Pittsburgh hospital, the show takes place in real-time across one gruelling 15-hour shift – think 24 meets ER. At the centre is Dr Michael ‘Robby’ Robinavitch (played by Noah Wyle), who rose to fame for his role as junior doctor John Carter in ER. In The Pitt, he plays the traumatised yet empathetic senior attending physician at The Pitt – his nickname for the under-resourced department where doctors and nurses are pushed to their limits as they deal with the fallout from festival shootings, a measles outbreak and fentanyl overdoses. Stream now on HBO Max.
Going Out
See Cherry Blossom Paintings
The arrival of spring is synonymous with cherry blossoms, with London’s streets turning a dusty pink and white for a few weeks each year. This delicate national flower of Japan is at the heart of a new collection of paintings by British nature artist and environmentalist (and daughter of The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood) Leah Wood, now on display for a limited time in Notting Hill. Head to Japanese tea and ceramics shop Keiko Ushida, where 17 of the watercolour pieces are dotted around among traditional, handcrafted pottery and premium matcha. They’ll remain there until sold, so make sure to pop in sooner rather than later – especially if you’d like to take one of them home for yourself. keikouchida.com; leahwoodartwork.com
Property Of The Day
Though it may look like a Victorian property from the outside, this Surrey home actually dates all the way back to 1500. Having been concealed by 19th century renovators, the home’s Medieval beams and historic details are now back on display in celebration of its storied past.

Whatever You Do, Don’t
Forget to take your lamb out the fridge a while before you put it in the oven, says Sean Burridge, executive chef at The Ivy Collection. ‘Letting it reach room temperature before cooking reduces the huge contrast in temperature that the lamb experiences when in the oven and therefore helps it cook more evenly and be more tender.’
