Staying In

Paper The Walls (And The Ceiling)

And so the home transformation continues. Next up on the list: what to do with the walls? If a lick of colour isn’t enough to feed your creative appetite, look beyond the pots of paint to the rolls of paper waiting to be spread. ‘Wallpaper on walls – and pattern on walls – is back in a significant way, appealing to a new generation of interior design enthusiasts,’ says Rebecca Craig, lead designer at Sanderson and Morris & Co. And it’s not just the walls getting special treatment, either: interior design enthusiasts are proving that any space at home can become a fitting canvas. ‘Wallpaper is being used in different, inventive and unexpected ways – from ceilings and the interiors of cabinets to borders applied cleverly around door frames to add colour and pattern,’ confirms Rebecca. ‘There’s a clear move towards a more-is-more approach; design is shifting to embrace texture, colour and more decorative effects, on every surface.’ Read our full report on 2026’s biggest wallpaper trends here.

Try Revamped Bakery Little Sourdough Kitchen

For many years, in-the-know Fulham locals have flocked to Little Sourdough Kitchen on Munster Road to pick up their morning loaves and Saturday pastries. And this month, the bakery is entering a new chapter under the leadership of chef Phil Howard (Elystan Street) and restaurateur Julian Dyer, a regular who swooped in after learning the owners were selling up and moving back to Italy. Long-time fans need not worry though: it will still be the friendly neighbourhood spot we know and love, with a focus on small-batch baking using English grain. The core menu remains, alongside some new additions including Brunsvieger, a Danish classic, and a heritage loaf made with spelt, einkorn and rye. ‘It was already an excellent bakery, that was the point,’ says Dyer. ‘This wasn’t about coming in and changing something, it was about protecting it, supporting it, and helping it develop and expand.’ 237 Munster Rd, London SW6 6BT; check it out on Instagram

Whatever You Do, Don’t

Wear jeans on flights, says Ryanair in a now viral TikTok post. The airline could be onto something: physician Dr Hugh Pabarue told the Huffington Post that ‘the clothing we wear when we fly can significantly impact our circulation’, adding ‘wearing leggings and other restrictive garments, such as skinny jeans that are too tight, reduces blood's ability to flow into and out of the legs.’
