Staying In
Read Our New British & Irish Hotels Guide
Kick off your week with a cup of tea and the brand-new edition of Great British & Irish Hotels, relaunched in a glittering new guise. Inside you’ll find a whole host of inspiration for places to stay across the UK, from grand city dames to cosy village inns where the food is worth travelling miles for. But that’s not all: this issue is also a glorious celebration of British hospitality and our beloved Britain itself. We’ve got features on everything from the rise of the farm stay to reclaiming the dirty weekend to why the bread course is the best part of any meal. Plus, editor Fiona Duncan explores the new generation of landlords who are keeping our pubs alive. And have you heard of the Notswolds? It’s the emerging destination to know right now, says Simon Kurs. Pick up your copy today for all this and much more.
Going Out
Do Rooftop Yoga At The Sky Garden
Realign your chakras with a view at the Sky Garden, which has revived its weekend yoga sessions. Classes take place 36 storeys above the capital in the City Garden Bar with sweeping vistas of the London skyline, and expert instructors guiding you through a series of rejuvenating and energising flows. Afterwards, enjoy a matcha latte or Plenish shot – or stay a little longer to explore the luscious gardens and have brunch at Larch (class attendees will receive 10 percent off the bill). The menu includes freshly baked pastries alongside hot dishes like poached eggs with cavolo nero, datterini tomatoes and smoked salmon; and rosemary and garlic with focaccia, fried egg and rose harissa. Look out for monthly wellness residencies too, led by fitness experts like Ria Gandhi and Verity Bowditch. Every Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer, from £20.90pp. skygarden.london
Property Of The Day
Now’s your chance to buy up a room of one’s own in the childhood home of Virginia Woolf. Located on the fourth floor, this apartment used to hold the home’s library and study. Though Woolf’s father – the writer and scholar Sir Leslie Stephen – gets the only official Blue Plaque out front, details about the author’s (rather distressing) childhood at 22 Hyde Park Gate can be found in her autobiographical essay A Sketch Of The Past.

There are four designs championing both new and heritage styles: the Boston in Antique Oak, the Bayswater in Vintage Ebony, the Darley Cosmetic Pouch and a Zipped Pouch. From £495, mulberry.com

Psssst…
It’s the most star-studded event on the planet – but how do you get an invite to the Met Gala? As the event’s chairwoman it’s up to Anna Wintour to decide, and speculation suggests attendees are picked based on cultural relevance and upcoming projects. According to fashion and culture journalist Amy Odell, those that make it onto that year’s guest list are part of Wintour’s ‘in’ group. ‘[An invite is] really a huge signifier that you are “in”,’ she explained in a conversation with Time, highlighting that the Met Gala works as more of a multi-industry networking event for those in (or who want to creep closer into) the spotlight.
