Teenager Approved Trips - Travel - February 2025

Dear Reader,

Happy half term! If you have teenagers in tow, you might be wondering how to entertain them – or wishing you’d booked a holiday.

Time to look ahead to the long-stretching summer vacation, a behemoth best punctuated with a family adventure. While your teens might not gleefully build sandcastles or unabashedly cannonball into swimming pools anymore, there’s still plenty of opportunity for connection as a unit – especially at a beach resort. (Check out our guide to travelling with teenagers for all the expert intel.)

Our top pick this summer (and every summer, for that matter) is Mar-Bella Collection, a handful of beautiful resorts in Corfu and mainland Greece. Whether you’re looking for R&R or activities galore, these four resorts strike the perfect balance between safety and freedom for independent teenagers.

Here are eight family holiday ideas for 2025, teenager-approved.

Enjoy,

8 Teenager Approved Trips For Summer 2025

1. Mar-Bella Collection

Blending comfort, elegance and tailored experiences, this family-owned portfolio of four luxury hotels is really a cut above. Each of Mar-Bella Collection’s four properties is thoughtfully positioned around the Ionian Sea and promises a premium escape – especially perfect for multi-generational and extended families. The flagship property, MarBella, is all about togetherness, cultivating lasting memories of eating, swimming, resting, playing and adventuring as a family in sun-soaked Corfu. New-for-2025 Avali, meanwhile, is a barefoot luxury beachfront haven, cradled in a small bay backdropped by rising mountains. And a hop across the sea to mainland Greece in Parga sits Elix, seamlessly combining luxury with adventure, making a perfect haven for grown-up families and outdoor enthusiasts.

If you can’t decide between Parga and Corfu, why not combine the two? Mar-Bella Collection’s Twin Centre option combines a stay in historical, colourful Corfu with an unforgettable visit to Elix transferred via a catamaran cruise.

2. Cotswold Frolics

I’m a hotel critic by trade. I go to hotels, usually on my own. I check out the food in the dining room, walk around the grounds, sleep in the bed, eat breakfast, go home, write my review. It’s not often that I am able to put a hotel to the test to the extent that Estelle Manor was given the third degree on this, my second visit, armed with one husband, two sons, one daughter in law and two grandchildren, Olive (aged five) and Max (aged nearly three). Not one critic, but seven. Estelle Manor nailed it. Here's why.

3. Theatrical Sailing Down The Nile

Looking for something unforgettable? When we asked Nick Davies, managing director at Cookson Adventures, how to tempt teens onto a sightseeing trip, he brought the unique temples of Luxor to our attention, where an immersive re-staging of 1920s Egypt unfolds after dark with the help of professional actors. ‘Beginning onboard their luxury dahabiya, guests receive a telegram from famous British archaeologist Howard Carter, enlisting their help with the excavation of a lifetime,’ Nick teases. ‘The dramatic evening unfolds after-hours at an iconic temple – set against a cinematic score created by a local musician – where the group undertake a mission to banish a secret curse. As they unlock the mystery in each room, the magnificent temple is slowly lit to reveal a celebratory feast.’ cooksonadventures.com

4. New Forest Treehouse Adventure

Nestled in the New Forest, Chewton Glen is home to wildlife aplenty, best enjoyed from its uber luxurious treehouse suites. Boasting elegant interiors with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, mini kitchens, luxurious bathrooms and the comfiest of beds, the main difference the treehouses bear to a traditional suite are the seclusion and elevation on spindly (yet sturdy) stilts as the valley slopes down and the trees spring up – but it’s still the perfect escapism to enrapture your teens on staycation. 5. Private Yacht Through Canada’s Wilderness

Looking for a multigenerational adventure that delivers more fly than flop? ‘If you want to switch up the traditional villa week, where granny sits on a sun lounger while the kids play in the pool, a holiday sailing Desolation Sound on the Pacific Yellowfin private yacht promises an unforgettable adventure,’ recommends Roxy Dukes, Steppes Travel’s Canada specialist. ‘Here, the beauty of nature sweeps you off the grid and into the heart of Western Canada’s untamed wilderness. Towering mountains rise dramatically from the deep fjordlands, and older generations can fish for Dungeness crab on deck and spot orca and humpbacks gliding beneath the surface while the young bloods mess about with an inflatable slide, kayaks, water trampolines, and wakeboards, or head off with a guide in find bears in ancient forests, untouched by time. On board, the elegant cabins are a cosy sanctuary where the family can play games and kick back while they journey through one of the most breathtaking places on earth.’ steppestravel.com

6. Connect To Nature

Looking to abscond from the city? Then a trip to the Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire is just the ticket. Just one hour from London, it’s another world with 500 acres of beautiful nature to embrace and frolick through. With an array of restaurants and bars, a sumptuous spa for wellness-obsessed teens and even the opportunity for a pony ride, it’s all you could want in a weekend away in the heart of England. Best of all, you can bring the dog, too. fourseasons.com

7. Cowboy Core Ranch Stays

What do Yellowstone, copper hair and Beyonce all have in common? They’re all key players in the rise of Cowboy Core, of course. And the experts think travel is the next frontier this year, citing luxury ranch stays as a top trend alongside the likes of cosmic wellness, intergenerational travel and coolcationing. If there’s a fashion-conscious Swiftie of a teenager in your midst, a ranch holiday is sure to impress. Find five ideas here.

8. Slow Down In Sussex

Whether walking through spectacular landscapes is your thing, or you’re more at home in chocolate box towns, Sussex truly has something for everyone, says Tessa Dunthorne. But with more than 60 million visitors every year, most of them London daytrippers, there’s more than meets the eye. Ditch the day trip and slow down for 36 hours – or more. Here’s how to spend it.
