How To Achieve The Ultimate Spring Glow
What Is Cloud Skin? (And Why Is It All Over My FYP?)
We can all admit that, when it comes to beauty, Korean brands are usually on a whole new level. And the latest skincare trend to come out of if the K-beauty industry? Cloud skin (but not as you know it).
‘Cloud skin is the softer version of 2024’s sought-after glass skin trend,’ explains Justmylook‘s Skincare Expert, Hayley Walker. ‘It focuses on the same values of creating an iridescent glow, but with a subtle and slightly matte finish.’
The trend comes hot on the heels of the dewy skincare movement, acting as an in-between for creamy and matte-based skincare. Kicking off in South Korea, it’s all about cultivating a soft-looking complexion with an emphasis on using Korean skincare products.
‘The trend focuses on nourishing the skin to enhance natural beauty and create a luminous glow,’ confirms Hayley. ‘And it perfects the balance between hydration and lightweight matte textures to achieve a flawless, shimmering complexion.’
Sounds ideal. But how do Koreans (and Korean skincare enthusiasts) actually do it? Click below to find out.
Brand Spotlight: Chantecaille
Setting a luxurious standard in the world of botanical skincare and cosmetics, Chantecaille products are formulated to nourish and protect your skin. The brand’s latest launch, the Blanc Peony Collection, uses a powerful Multi-Brightening Complex (combining thiamidol, white peony and botanical peptides) to create a visibly luminous, even skin tone and improve the appearance of dark spots. The result? A radiant springtime glow.
Ask The Expert: Élodie Carpentier
We ask Élodie Carpentier, co-founder of Le Rouge Français, to share her top spring makeup tips for 2025.
How do seasonal changes impact our skin at this time of year?
Spring is a time of renewal – and our skin does feel the shift! After months of cold weather, it can feel drier, dull and in need of a reset. With rising temperatures and increased sun exposure, our skin craves hydration, protection and a boost of radiance. This is the perfect moment to embrace lighter, nourishing formulations enriched with vegetal ingredients.
What does the transition from winter to spring makeup look like?
Spring makeup is all about fresh, radiant skin and lightweight textures. As we move away from heavier winter textures, we embrace sheer, luminous finishes and vibrant yet soft colours.
Are there any makeup trends you predict will be big this spring?
Dewy, Glowy Skin: Fresh, hydrated skin with a glass-like finish will continue to dominate.
Bold Blush: Draped blush and vibrant pinks or corals applied high on the cheeks for a lifted effect.
Glossy Lips: Juicy and high-shine lips in pink, peach, and nude shades will make a comeback.
How can different skin tones embrace spring hues?
Every skin tone can enhance its natural beauty by choosing shades that complement its undertones. Soft pastels, warm corals and vibrant hues can all be tailored to bring out the best in each complexion. For example, fair skin glows with pearly pink or baby peach, medium skin tones shine in ribbon pink or golden champagne, and deep skin pops with bold coral or rich berry tones.
