Dear Reader,
Jane Goodall is 90 years old and has spent this defining year traversing the planet, drawing indeed, dare we say it, Trump-like crowds of people to hear from one of the world’s most beloved and renowned conservationists. She’s so famous, in fact, that she inspired Michael Jackson’s song ‘Heal the World’ and has appeared in The Simpsons. And we were lucky enough to meet her in London. You can read the whole interview here, but it’s a heartwarming and life-affirming reminder that there is huge power in doing good work – and we should never forget that.

On Monday we launched our Future Icons Power People at a joyful event at London’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel, celebrating those who work hard to make our world a cooler, fairer, more equitable place. Among the pain and the passion, the overriding message is that we all need the joy too. We had it in spades.
