What's On 16 March

Dear Reader,

It’s books again this week. Firstly, those wonderful free book exchanges that have been popping up on train stations around the country are for the chop. Why? Health and safety. They’re a fire hazard. It’s heartbreaking. Every time I pass mine at Acton Central, it gives me a little dopamine hit, knowing that something so simple and non-commerce-related is giving real joy to anyone and everyone. To cull those opportunities for social good feels very, very bad. Talking of very, very bad, a new book exposing the corporate culture, values and ethics at Meta from a former employee has sent the Mark Zuckerberg PR and legal machine into apoplexy. I’m listening to Careless People by Facebook’s former director of global public policy, Sarah Wynn-Williams, on Audible and my jaw couldn’t drop much further.

Have a great week.

WHAT’S ON MY MIND THIS WEEK

The King’s Music Taste

How much do we love King Charles’ playlist? Just like a reading list gives so much insight into character, so does someone’s music choices and we’re loving his. Outclasses Trump’s YMCA on repeat any day.

Meghan Markle’s Spaghetti

Meghan’s new show has not been so much divisive as derided. But, even among those who can’t abide the Stepford approach to life, they’ve been won over by her spaghetti dish. Find out why here. I’m going to try it out this weekend.

Why A Trip To Botswana Is Worth Every Penny

A Botswana safari is a pinch-me moment. I was lucky enough to visit last year with my two children in tow – I saw them grow before my very eyes, immersed in a landscape so incredible, with guides filling their heads with knowledge that will never be forgotten, and animals so close as to almost feel their breath. Read about our adventure here.
