What's On 6 July

Dear Reader,

While all the focus was on Glastonbury last week, a more vital festival was taking place on a farm just outside Stevenage – and it attracted none other than our future king. Groundswell is where all the cool farmers – who want their soil to be rich and fertile, for nature to thrive and for us all to eat good nutritious food – hang; and it’s a place for hope. Top talk (apart from Prince William’s star appearance) was from Rob Hopkins, author of a new book: How to Fall In Love with the Future, the premise of which is to ask us to consider what the world would look like if we all started imagining – and then building – a place we were deeply in love with? Isn’t that a vision of the future we can all get behind? Buy it here.

Have a great week.

WHAT’S ON MY MIND THIS WEEK

Esther and Bella Freud by Julian Broad

Women Authors

Did you know that female authors’ books are priced at less than men’s? Outrageous! So when you dive into our brand new delicious summer issue, we’re celebrating new works by three fantastic women: Elizabeth Day, Esther Freud and Jackie Thomas-Kennedy, who are worth more than their weight in gold.

Lime, Basil and Mandarin Vodka, Anyone?

With the news that Jo Malone (the woman not the brand) has launched a vodka brand, I can only guess that it will be something suitably sensuous. Choose from three expressions: 101 – The Purist, 102 – The Bohemian and 103 – The Artist.
