Dear Reader,

There’s one woman in fashion I’ve admired for sticking her ethically sourced cotton to her mast: Amy Powney lives and breathes fashion done responsibly. From the launch of Akyn earlier this year (after departing Mother of Pearl), she’s conjured up one of the most genius collaborations I’ve come across in recent years. And it’s done for reasons far more worthy than Instagram hits too. She’s designed British outdoor brand Finisterre’s first female capsule collection and it’s a belter. We all need a good raincoat and a fisherman’s sweater; we need warmth and proper technical protection whether in the city or the country – but many of us also want our garments to feel more elevated than what’s usually on offer and this collection is it. I’m going to live in the cinnamon waterproof longline coat (the colour suits everyone) and for the transitional season, the oversized quilted jacket is a must. Roll on, winter.
