What's On 8 December

Dear Reader,

Some therapists can immediately intuit what’s going on with you more deeply than just treating the visible symptoms. You might think you’re going in for a facial, but you’re leaving with a therapy session. I love those moments, and so it was with Beata Aleksandrowicz. Within almost seconds of sitting down to do my questionnaire, she knew – just by my vibe, I guess – that my energy was sapped and that my brain was switched to ‘on the run’ mode as a default i.e. it’s been long term. She’s known for being able to reconstruct faces with Bell's Palsy with no intervention other than her hands and oil, so I did get an incredible facial but I also got some much-needed advice about how to reconnect with my poor, over-exerted brain – and show it a little more respect. New Year’s Resolution number one. I’m collecting them as I go this month.

Have a great week.

WHAT’S EXCITING ME THIS WEEK

The Great Porridge Debate

The humble oat became the headlines this week when – in some camps – it was deemed a junk food. As ever, there’s nuance. A golden syrup instant porridge? Terrible. Whole rolled oats cooked with milk or water – with some mashed banana? Great.
