What's On 15 September

Dear Reader,

This week has taken a very autumnal turn and we have a bet in the office how long we can resist turning on the heating (I try to wait till the clocks go back at the end of next month). Every conversation I now have about the weather or the temperature is tinged with the knowledge that our weather system is broken, that the seasonal rhythms we have hitherto enjoyed are being disrupted – and that it is incumbent on us to prevent full breakdown by stopping releasing so much carbon into the atmosphere. Check out our Green Heroes series to read about those helping who are making it their mission to help us on that journey, our sustainability hub for news, inspiration and ideas, and our Good Brand Directory to find brands you can trust.

WHAT’S EXCITING ME THIS WEEK

Van Gogh At The National

A must-see this autumn (if you can get tickets), Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers is the first exhibition dedicated to the artist in the museum’s history. Read our review here.

The Perfect Couple

Are you watching the show everyone’s talking about (apart from me, though it’s on the list – check out more here). I’ve been obsessing instead over American politics (that debate!) and the BBC’s excellent three-parter on Zelensky. It’s all very meta when you see him in a frame with Trump in the White House and remember they both came from the entertainment industry… and went on to run their countries.

Retreats are getting deeper and more specific; water – preferably cold – continues its popularity; modern pilgrimages (i.e. hiking or long walks) are on the rise and social prescribing is becoming policy. Discover what floats your wellness boat.
