What's On 21 April (1)
Dear Reader,
As Victoria Beckham hits 50 and looks incredible with it, there’s been a lot of chatter about women and aging (quelle surprise). Let’s look at the facts. The women in their 50s who are vaunted, successful and still commanding public attention, look exceptional, youthful and thin, with neither a grey hair nor a flabby batwing in sight: think Mariella, Davina, Trinny (actually 60), for example. We might have thought the pressure to ‘relax’ things would have worn off in our sixth decade but with these pin-ups, it feels we’re still just as demanding of ourselves so we can fit in with what society values. I know I feel that way at 48. What do you think?
Have a great week.

Crocs Go Couture
Ugly shoes are something of a social anomaly. They shouldn’t really work but they do. I think the key is that a) they have to be extremely comfortable, and b) they have to be so ugly as to be a statement. That’s why Simone Rocha has teamed up with Crocs for the original ugly shoe’s best outing yet.
Stalking Gets Serialised
The latest Netflix show to have us gripped is Baby Reindeer, the extraordinary true tale of comedian Donny Dunn (played by Richard Gadd on whose story the show is based) being obsessed over by a woman he calls ‘Martha’. Sunday night viewing sorted.
