What's On March 3rd

Dear Reader,
Am I falling out of love with my Oura ring? These fitness/health apps are all very well and good when they’re feeding you positive information: ‘hey, Lucy, you slept like a baby last night, you can rock the world today.’ ‘Girl, you smashed your steps target – whoo, look at you go.’ ‘Wow, look how much relaxation time you got today. You deserve some cuddly time with a fluffy bunny.’ I lap that stuff up. Unfortunately of late, my ring has been sending me the equivalent of red stamped overdue letters in the post. Alarm! Alert! Are you still alive? Red lines everywhere – not enough rest, heart rate up, no restorative periods. Every morning I check my ‘readiness’ score with dread as my ‘resilience’ goes down to ‘adequate’. I am failing in my wellness mission. And I don’t like failing. But what if my feelings of inadequacy are perpetuating the anxiety? Should I put faith in the ring? Or is it really telling me I need to address the issues and it’s time to get a fluffy bunny, for real.
Have a great week.

WHAT’S EXCITING ME THIS WEEK
Could Your Home Be A Movie Set?
I’m assuming a few of our readers might live in the type of property that Hollywood scouts would adore to get their mitts on for a movie. Interested? Check out our guide here.
UPFs, Again
UPF (ultra processed food) is under the spotlight again this week as a new study shows it’s been linked to 32 harmful effects to health, including a higher risk of heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes. The bible to read up on it is Chris van Tulleken’s Ultra Processed People. I can’t recommend it enough.
Popcorn Brain
Given my Oura results above, maybe I can blame the phone in my hand for an inability to switch off. Sounds familiar? Maybe you’re suffering from popcorn brain.
